#BookReview: It’s In His Christmas Wish by Shelly Alexander

Fitting Conclusion. In this swan song for the Red River Valley series, there are no swans. But there is a little girl named Noelle who has a Christmas wish, and our final couple in town gets thrown together to try to grant it… Along the way, we get the same elements this series has come to be known for – zany antics from old busybodies, solid small town atmosphere, a hot sex scene or two, and solid, heartwarming romance. This *can* be an entry point into the series – if you don’t mind minor spoilers about previous books, any book in this series is fine for that – but go all the way back to Book 1 and start from there. A truly excellent book, and I can’t wait to see where Alexander takes us next. Very much recommended.

#BookReview: It’s In His Forever by Shelly Alexander

Finally Forever. This book has all the feels and hijinx of a novel length Red River Valley tale, but in shorter novella form – though closer to 80 pages or so, rather than the 13 pages Goodreads currently claims. To put that in a bit of perspective, Goodreads claims that the previous book in the series was 318 pages – making this one roughly 1/4 the length of the previous one. And honestly, just as good. We already know both of these characters and their issues from being secondary characters in previous books, so this one can and does ignore all of that setup that the previous books required for their couples. Instead, we get the more or less straight relationship stuff, beginning with where we left this couple before and progressing to a happier ending for them – their forever. Very much looking forward to where Alexander takes this series next.

#BookReview: It’s In His Arms by Shelly Alexander

Much At Stake. In this book, we get our first entry in Red River where the female lead already has kids. And she, the male lead, and the entire town have some real stakes at play other than just the romance of the primary story. Alexander executes all of this very well, even though much of it is plainly obvious almost from the first time you encounter the characters in question. Still, a fun, fairly light beach read.
