Book Review: Failure Point by Rebecca Hodge

Solid Paced Thriller With Heart. This is one of those thrillers that starts out rather explosively, pulls back, then builds back up to an even more frenetic ending that will leave you breathless... and maybe even in a pretty dusty room.

Those looking for true balls to the wall "total nonstop" action... this isn't that kind of tale. It has a lot of action in the back third in particular, and it does in fact get into that "ohmygodicantstopreadingihavetoknowwhathappensnextrightFUCKINGNOW!" level pacing *in that part*, but the majority of the book after the opening scene is more about establishing a deep emotional connection to these characters that then serves to give a depth to the action that many more pure action tales often lack.

For those seeking more depth though, there is absolutely that here, with a strong arc for our main character that could in fact work well to have this story serve as a Book 1 for at least a trilogy and perhaps even a longer - *maybe* even indefinite - series.

Overall a very strong book that should have a lot of appeal across a variety of readers given all that it actually does.

Very much recommended.
