Book Review: Corpse Creek by Vincent Ralph

Interesting Use Of Grief As Horror. This is one of those books that seems unexpectedly terrifying in that you wouldn't necessarily expect grief over a long-dead brother to be used as the base of a horror/ thriller... and yet it absolutely works here.

This is one of the most psychological/ supernatural books in this series to date, and between this and the overbearing grief theme, it won't be for every reader... and due to the way this series is very loosely coupled around mysterious deaths sometimes decades apart in this small rural town, it isn't necessarily an absolute "must" read if it just isn't your thing.

But for those brave enough to try this tale, it really is quite good and in fact one of the deeper and more engaging tales of this series. But if you're just looking for cheap slasher style horror... yeah, this aint that.

As with every entry in this series to date, this is in the shorter half or so of the 200 ish page range, which makes for a quick read overall... perhaps while standing in line at a Halloween Horror Nights house? As in, I read both this book and the next one in the same day while completing a third unrelated book.

Very much recommended.

(P.S.: If you go to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando, the Jack and Oddfellow and Ozzy houses this year are *really* good. :D)
