Book Review: Fear Farm by Vincent Ralph

Solid Return To Slasher Style Horror. After the more psychological/ supernatural horror of Book 3 in this series, Corpse Creek, this was a refreshing return to a more typical side of horror - the straight up small town slasher tale.

The setup here gets more interesting in that this is *supposed* to be one of those "haunted forest" type events where people are acting... before the real dying begins and everything twists on its head.

Once again on the shorter side of the 200 ish page range, this is yet again a great read while you and the kids are out at a pumpkin patch/ haunted hayride kind of place that are at least common enough in the American South. (A quick chat with Gemini reveals that there are at least 5 such events within 100 miles of where I live in Jacksonville, FL, including one just outside St. Augustine and another not far from the University of Florida in Gainesville.) So let the kids run around the safe (ish?) field and get all that energy out playing in the sun while you relax with a tale that will spike your adrenaline and help you enjoy this spooky time of year.

Overall a fun, quick, short read perfect for exactly what it is that never pretends to be anything beyond exactly what it is.
