Book Review: Tyrant Lizard Queen by Riley Black
Jurassic Park Is More Real Than This Supposedly Nonfiction Book. And Less Bigoted. In all honesty, this book seems like Black started with the premise that "I want to write a book about a bisexual TRex", wrote a fiction book around that, then claimed to slap like 10 references on the end so it could be claimed to be a nonfiction book.
Horse shit.
You read that right.
Horse shit.
As in, not even shitty enough to be bull shit.
Now, as a fiction tale following a TRex character from hatching through her matron days... hey, it's really not that bad. Still bigoted, but that mostly comes in in the 30% of the book where Black explains the intention of each chapter and *claims* (via much handwaving and open bigotry, in addition to the phrase - I shit you not with this - "Various avian dinosaurs have been observed...") "science".
Yeah, and Ultron is also real science. Loki's armor suddenly appearing instead of the suit he was just wearing is science. Loki being real is science. All equally science according to the "science" standards set forth in this book.
If this is the standard for "nonfiction" now, there is no longer any distinction at all between fiction and nonfiction. Truly.
Now, if you agree with Black's bigotries... you're going to love this book.
In all honesty, if you're that far gone, you really should start with the picture books again and get an actual education - this book is only further harming you.
Not recommended. At all. Certainly not as anything remotely "nonfiction".
